Do you have a writing project in the works? Do you like to blog or write poetry? Are you into creative non-fiction, or do you have a paper for class? ALL are welcome to join Prof. Rule's writing power hour! Each session will begin with sharing a little about the writing projects we are working on before transitioning into writing time for the next ~45 minutes.
The purpose of this space is to create a community of diverse writers working on an array of projects, who support each other and set aside dedicated, focused time to our craft.

Political Elephant and Donkey
In election years, political ads are everywhere. But what separates a good political ad from a bad one? And what effects do political ads have on election? Join Frank Chi, a leading political admaker who has made ads for Senators and presidential candidates, as he shares his thoughts on the political ads that are airing this year, and ads that have aired in past years. Chi will be in conversation with Professor Ethan Porter, who researches political advertising. We'll watch some ads together, talk about which ads are better than others, and open things up for questions from the audience.
