Dear Middle School Families,
Wow! It’s hard to believe that summer is ending and the 2023 - 2024 school year is about to commence. This is going to be a special year! TMI is celebrating its 130th birthday, our 6th graders are the class of 2030 (yes, you read that correctly), and we will be giving your students more opportunities for some fun and interesting classes!
In addition to these things, I’d also like to welcome Mrs. Janna Clements to the Middle School team. Mrs. Clements will be the Assistant Head of Middle School for Student Life. She will lead Middle School clubs and organizations, support students, work through and handle any disciplinary issues, create new programming, and more to make the Middle School experience amazing!
Before we hit the ground running, the purpose of our first week of school will be to ease into things to set a solid foundation for an incredible year! Please review the events below:

New Student Orientation will be on Wednesday, August 16th. All new students and their families are invited to campus for orientation and an opportunity to preview where their classes will be. Students are asked to wear TMI casual uniform or spirit wear. Check-in will begin at 8:45 a.m.

Convocation Day is on Thursday, August 17th. Breakfast will be served from 7:15 - 8:00 a.m. then programming will begin. This is a half of a day, concluding at 12:20 p.m. Click here for a look at the schedule.

Middle School Retreats will take place on Friday, August 18th. Students will meet in the Amphitheater by 8:10 a.m., and the day will conclude at 3:45 p.m. Click here for more information from Mrs. Clements.

Classes will begin on Monday, August 21st. This day will be an Orange Day (class periods 1 through 4).

As Dr. Harris stated in her email yesterday, we will move to an A/B (Orange/Black) block rotation schedule. Please note that the school day will begin at 8:15 a.m. and will conclude at 3:45 p.m. Here is a quick reference of the schedule:

In conclusion, I want to extend my heartfelt welcome to all new families and welcome back to returning families! Our theme this year is "Thank God It’s Today!" I thank God each and every day for our students and our time together here at TMI. I am looking forward to seeing each of their smiling faces soon!
