MAG Board members,
The following is a high-level summary of some key notes and developments…
If you have not already done so, please click here to complete a brief survey that is designed to determine if MAG should offer a discount program for personal protective equipment (PPE). The MAG Foundation will receive $15 for every survey that is completed up to $2,500. The survey only takes one to two minutes to complete. The results of the survey will be shared with the Board on January 30. Contact Ryan Larosa at rlarosa@mag.org with questions.
The MAG Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) has reached out to the Georgia Department of Public Health (DPH) to see how it can help patients in the Atlanta metro area (i.e., where DPH says there is a need) to get vaccinated for COVID-19. The MAG MRC has identified more than 30 physicians who have expressed interest in serving as volunteer vaccinators, most of whom have already been vaccinated or are awaiting the second shot. The MAG MRC is waiting on DPH for next steps and further instructions. Contact Fred Jones at fjones@mag.org with questions.
DPH continues to host weekly COVID-19 vaccine webinars at 12:30 p.m. on Fridays. No registration is required. Click here to participate in this Friday's webinar (January 22) and click here to participate in the webinar on January 29. Contact Bethany Sherrer at bsherrer@mag.org with questions. Also click here to visit the new MAG COVIV-19 Vaccines Resources Center.

Kay Kirkpatrick, M.D. (R-Marietta) will chair the Senate Veterans, Military and Homeland Security Committee. Sen. Ben Watson, M.D. (R-Savannah) retains his position as the chair of the Senate Health and Human Services (HHS) Committee. Sens. Watson and Kirkpatrick were named to the Senate Judiciary Committee as well. MAG is also congratulating MAG member and MAG Foundation Georgia Physicians Leadership Academy graduate Sen. Michelle Au, M.D. (D-Johns Creek) who was sworn into office on January 11. The other physician in the Georgia General Assembly is Rep. Mark Newton, M.D. (R-Augusta). Contact Derek Norton at dnorton@mag.org with questions about the legislative session.
MAG has hired a commercial real estate firm to lease the lower half of its building, as the previous tenant – Hooters – recently vacated the space. Click here to see the Internet listing and the attached flyer. Please forward these resources to any parties that you believe might be interested in leasing the space. Contact Fred Jones at fjones@mag.org with questions.
Please remember to click here to get a quote on a MAG Insurance Agency/MedPro medical malpractice policy. MAG/MedPro have already delivered savings for a number of physicians in the state. Contact Ryan Larosa at rlarosa@maginsuranceagency.com with questions.

They feature MAG members Antonio Rios, M.D., and Carlos del Rio (recorded in Spanish) and Andrew Reisman, M.D. Click here to watch these and other editions of the ‘Top Docs’ show. Another show addressing Humana’s plans to enter the Medicaid market in Georgia will be distributed this week. Contact me at tkornegay@mag.org with suggestions for ‘Top Docs’ topics.
MAG continues to facilitate a weekly COVID-19 Zoom call with the chief medical officers at large health care systems in the state so they can share information and bets practices. Contact Ryan Larosa at rlarosa@mag.org with questions.
