| Regulatory roll backs, funding freezes and cancellations, and firing of the federal work force have ground to a halt significant conservation projects and threaten to reverse decades of progress. But in the face of continued headwinds, it behooves us in the conservation community to stand together and strengthen our bonds. Where we can, we must continue to press forward with our important work to conserve and steward both public and private lands -- now is not the time to lose our spirit and determination. While our advocates mount needed legal challenges in the courts, there is important work going on. As far as conservation finance is concerned, we need to look to the grassroots, the states and the private sector for inspiration, guidance, and to collectively identify new ways to fund and finance conservation. To help us understand how CFN can help advance conservation efforts, please fill out our survey and tell us what more information and tools you need. And there’s still time to register for CFN’s next Nature’s Returns webinar on April 3rd on Grassland Carbon.

The American Forest Foundation Carbon Auction: What We Learned The American Forest Foundation’s (AFF) first-ever carbon auction, while not resulting in any sales, provided valuable insights into market needs and allowed AFF to explore new approaches to carbon credit transactions. Despite strong engagement from 250 organizations and 45 registered bidders, the auction format did not fully align with buyers’ procurement processes. Interest in AFF’s carbon credits remains high, and the organization is already securing prepayment contracts outside of the auction. (American Forest Foundation)
