Miami Makes Best Places to Work in IT List for Third Straight Year


For the third year in a row, Miami University has been chosen as a top place to work in IT.

The 2024 rankings for the 30th annual Best Places to Work in IT report from Computerworld are out, and Miami has once again been listed as one of the best places to work in IT. We are ranked #26 overall in midsize companies!

First AI Symposium a Huge Success


Miami University hosted the first Miami AI symposium on November 1, and by all accounts, it was a huge success. The event was titled AI at the Intersection of Teaching, Learning, and the Future. It included three tracks of five sessions each, a keynote address, and lunch. The entire event took place in the Armstrong Student Center on the Oxford campus.

Winter Break Upgrades List: 2023-2024 Edition


This year, as always, IT Services will be performing several upgrades and conducting routine maintenance on various systems to ensure they are ready for the return of the students in January.

The last several weeks of the calendar year traditionally represent a time when demands on systems are lower, reducing the risk that students, faculty, or staff will be inconvenienced by the disruptions that this work may cause.

Access for All: A Journey 8 Years in the Making


One Friday in October, some of Miami University’s most engaged, thoughtful minds gathered to discuss disability, accessibility, and the intersection of those two things with the technologies we use to facilitate instruction and work at Miami.

The next Data Summit will take place on Thursday, January 18, 2024! This half-day event will feature a keynote and breakout sessions all about data and how we use it at Miami, with the theme of “Uncovering Value in Data.”

Tool helps Miami students, faculty, and staff share name pronunciation


Miami students have the ability to record the correct pronunciation of their names and list that pronunciation on their Canvas profile.

NameCoach, a tool that helps provide pronunciation information for student, faculty, and staff names, is available for Miami users in Canvas and online!
