PRINCIPAL POST
Thank you for attending Exhibit Nights and celebrations of learning prior to the break. We loved coming together as a community to let your students shine! We hope you and your family enjoyed some time together over this spring break! We have missed the students and are eager to welcome them back Monday morning. We look forward to a great fourth quarter.
As we begin the fourth quarter, please remember the following:
- Attendance matters. Students need to be in school every day. As spring fever settles in, this will continue to be important. Teachers have prepared meaningful learning opportunities for this quarter and the ideas build on each other. It is difficult to make up the experiences when not present.
- Tardy policy. As a reminder the upper school students are expected to be in class by 8:00. The lower school students are expected to be in class by 8:10. If you are pulling in the carline at that time, your child is likely tardy. All magnet students who have exceeded the allowable number of tardies for the year have been submitted to central office for review and possible revocation of magnet seats for next year. Please be on time to class as this helps students start the day with their morning meeting with their peers.
- Carline safety. Remember to put your car in park. No cell phones while in the carline. Watch for pedestrians.
- Learning expeditions. As a museum school, we strive to plan meaningful learning expeditions for students each quarter. Permission slips for quarter 4 went home the week prior to spring break. Please return those signed asap if you haven’t already. Also, take a moment to pay for quarter 4 learning expedition fees. As a school, we absorb the cost for families who struggle to pay and plan for this based on our free/reduce lunch applications for the year. However, we cannot absorb the cost for families who just forget to pay and will be limited on taking some of these trips if fees are not collected. Please make these payments and previous quarter payments if you forgot.
Third quarter data. Report cards and any relevant data reports will be sent home Friday. Please review this information with your student and set fourth quarter goals as appropriate.
Let’s have a great fourth quarter! See you all Monday.
