People

Award-Winning Service

Angella Coleman received the A. Robert Kucab Professional of the Year Award for making a significant impact on affordable housing through professional involvement by going above and beyond normal duties. Angella has been providing housing counseling for 26 years.
Vannessa Mason Evans, President of the Braggtown Community Association and RP board member, received the Durham Neighborhood Spotlight Award for going above and beyond to improve her community. We are pleased to be a partner with Vanessa and the Association.

Places

Historic Harriet Tubman YWCA

On September 12, we purchased the historic Harriet Tubman YWCA through foreclosure proceedings. Built in 1954, the Y was condemned and facing imminent demolition following 30 years of vacancy and neglect. We will renovate the property to preserve the community history, stabilize the neighborhood and provide affordable housing.

Policy

Healthy Opportunity Pilots

As both a practitioner and advocate, Reinvestment Partners is informing the design of NC DHHS Healthy Opportunity Pilots. Our comments helped to inform program designs for food, housing and interpersonal violence. This DHHS initiative is budgeted to receive up to $650 million over five years to demonstrate the effectiveness of new interventions on improving health outcomes and savings. We encourage others to learn more about this important initiative.
