NYU Shanghai senior Li Peirong '24 has been named a Schwarzman Scholar, winning a one-year, fully-funded fellowship to Tsinghua University's Schwarzman College in Beijing where he will pursue a Master's degree in Global Affairs, starting in August 2024.

• At the MIPIM Asia, Asia's largest international real estate conference, NYU Shanghai was honored with the Silver award for Best Infrastructure, Community & Civic Project. MIPIM Asia, which was created in 2006 to celebrate excellence and innovation among the very best of the Asian real estate industry, presented the award to Vice Chancellor Jeffrey Lehman, who travelled to Hong Kong to accept the award on behalf of NYU Shanghai. The key criteria for the award were overall sustainability, integration of the project in its environment and community, quality of the user experience, economic contribution, and originality of the concept.

• On December 2, as part of government-organized "University Public Service Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education in China" competition, NYU Shanghai signed a cooperation agreement focusing on public service and entrepreneurship education. The campaign has engaged in collaborations with over 30 universities, and the collaborative network between universities and social organizations is starting to yield positive outcomes in supporting public welfare entrepreneurship and talent development.

• Congratulations to Senior Manager and Head of Government and Alumni Relations at NYU Shanghai's Center for Career Development Tang Ji, on being honored by the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission as a "Shanghai City Level 2023 Distinguished Career Development Professional." Over the past five years, Ji has demonstrated outstanding achievements in guiding students in internships, employment, and career development education, as well as alumni relations and graduate students' career development.

• During CEL's "To Honor Every Story - Reading by Authors" event held on December 7, students shared stories created during a 3-day workshop in Shenyang, China, as part of the CEL Slow Storytelling Program led by Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Paul Salopek, founder of the Out of Eden Walk project.
