Women's Retreat Rescheduled to February |
The Women's Retreat has officially been CANCELLED for January 23-25. Last night, Pearlstone reached out to offer us the option to reschedule the Retreat for February 13-15, 2026. We surveyed as many registrants as we could reach via email, text, and phone and received overwhelming support for rescheduling. Please know that we made the best decision we could make with the information we had, and we are deeply sorry for anyone who will not be able to make the new dates.
If you are already registered, we will be sorting out all the details in the days to come. Please sit tight. We will be in touch.
If you are NOT registered for the Women's Retreat but would like to attend on the new dates, we have reopened registration. Please submit your registration as soon as possible.
Stay safe in the weather this weekend, and we hope to see the majority of you in February!

Limited Staff Availability on Monday |
Due to the incoming winter storm, BYM staff will have limited availability on Monday. Staff will be tending to children who are out of school, digging themselves and their neighbors out from the snow and ice, and (hopefully) enjoying an old-fashioned snow day - which the staff believe is an important opportunity for local community building, especially during politically fractured times. Thank you for your patience. We expect regular work to resume on Tuesday and hope Friends stay safe and warm this weekend!

| New charitable deduction for non-itemizers |
Starting in 2026, individuals who do not itemize deductions can deduct up to $1,000 in cash contributions (up to $2,000 for a married couple filing jointly) for federal income tax. A gentle way to take advantage of this rule is to make monthly automatic contributions! A special thank you to our Sustaining Quakers who in 2025 contributed over $50,000 to BYM! Even as little as $10 each month makes a big difference for the sustainability of our community. Thank you!

| QEW Zen & the Art of Saving the Planet, Jan 24 |
Join Quaker Earthcare Witness for an online event with Flo Scialom, the Project Coordinator for Zen and the Art of Saving the Planet (ZASP), a Plum Village initiative inspired by the teachings of Thích Nhất Hạnh. Based in the UK, Flo has spent more than a decade weaving together mindfulness, community practice, and social change, supporting networks such as the Network of Wellbeing and The Work That Reconnects. Drawing on years of facilitation and training, Flo will explore how mindfulness, community, and joy can help us meet the climate crisis without burning out. Together, we’ll reflect on practices such as deep listening, compassionate dialogue, and mindful rest, and consider how these can strengthen Spirit-led, effective Earthcare witness in our meetings and lives.
