I would like to start by offering my thanks to all of you for your continued support of our industry association as well as the industry we serve. Your support is deeply valued because it has enabled ATMIA to get through the economic challenges of the pandemic and to begin growing strongly again this year as we plan for a positive future together, based on our vision for an ATM and Cash Revival. The ATM industry is in a stronger position now as we emerge from a post-pandemic world and gain insight into what the “new normal” world will look like.
In just under a month, ATMIA Europe’s flagship event will be arriving in Berlin for our Europe 2022 ATM & Payments Summit on 19 & 20 October 2022. This is expected to be an exciting event, with over 200 payment professionals who are expected to gather from around Europe and from further afield to participate in a unique experience, take part in shared learning and to network widely.

Celebrating our 25th anniversary of service this year, we continue to be deeply committed to Europe. Our very first face to face Europe Regional Board meeting will take place on 18th October at 8:30am at the Radisson Collection Hotel and we request as many of you to attend as possible and take the opportunity to meet fellow members, share your good news stories or discuss any pressing issues you are facing in this post-pandemic world. Invitations for the Board Meeting will be sent to you shortly, but if you have any questions about the meeting please do not hesitate to get in touch with my colleague, Erika Navarrete.
Looking ahead, the architectural blueprint for the future of ATM technology has been agreed upon globally. We have standard APIs for a new API App Model for ATMs and our industry’s future-proofing over the past few years has been second to none. I am told certified NextGen ATMs and NextGen products are already rolling off the production line and there’s strong, ongoing demand both for cash services and for availability of the premier self-service channel in financial services. With that in mind, we thought this would be the opportune moment to bring the right people round the table to define the Minimum Viable Product (MVP) (introducing a new product in the market with basic features, but enough to get the attention of the consumers/stakeholders) for a NextGen ATM implementation project in Germany, focused on emergency cash at ATMs. So, we will be organising a NextGen Collective Implementation Forum meeting to focus on Germany on 18th October following on from the Board Meeting at the Radisson Collection Hotel.
