Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month
Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month is observed annually in May to celebrate the contributions that generations of AAPIs have made to American history, society, and culture in the United States. A rather broad term, Asian/Pacific encompasses all of the Asian continent and the Pacific islands of Melanesia, Micronesia, and Polynesia. The theme for 2025 is "A Legacy of Leadership and Resilience," which recognizes leaders who have laid the foundation for future generations to thrive and adapt.

Jewish American Heritage Month
Jewish American Heritage Month is an annual observance to celebrate Jewish American heritage and culture.

Master of Arts (M.A.) of Jewish-Christian Studies Since 1975, this program has taught students the history, theology, ethics, and scriptures of the Jewish and Christian faiths. Students develop a critical awareness of the relationship between Jews and Christians — and learn to address complex religious, ethical, and social issues to promote justice and peace.
- Seton Hall Hillel -The Hillel Student Organization aims to unify and build a strong foundational community for Jewish students on Seton Hall's campus and provide a positive atmosphere through educational, social, religious, cultural, and community programming.

The Jewish Law Students Association (JLS) strives to meet the needs and interests of Seton Hall's Jewish law students and enhance their law school experience.

Certificate of Jewish-Christian Studies - The Department of Religion offers a graduate certificate (12 credits) in Jewish-Christian Studies. Studies build critical academic bases for understanding Christians and Jews historically and phenomenologically.

Jewish-Christian Studies Seton Hall offers both a Certificate and an M.A. in Jewish-Christian Studies.
- The Sister Rose Thering Fund (SRTF) for Education in Jewish-Christian Studies is a community outreach program for the graduate program of Jewish-Christian studies at Seton Hall University.

Haitian Organization Promoting Education - H.O.P.E. stands for Haitian Organization Promoting Education. Through this organization, we strive to break the misconceived stereotypes of Haitians.

West Indian Student Organization- WISO serves as a support to students of West Indian descent and strives to promote awareness of West Indian culture through programs and events on campus. WISO also works with other West Indian Organizations on other campuses to keep abreast of information that affects the West Indian community as well as alongside other minority organizations on campus in being the voice of minority students.

Mental Health Awareness Month
May is Mental Health Awareness Month. This day brings attention to mental health issues and helps reduce stigma.

National Military Appreciation Month and Memorial Day
Monday, May 26, is Memorial Day, which honors the U.S. military personnel who died while serving in the United States Armed Forces. It is observed annually on the last Monday of May.

Older Americans Month
In 1963, Older Americans Month was established. This May diversity month celebrates Americans over 65 and how they contribute to society in the U.S. When it was founded, only 17 million Americans had reached their 65th birthday, and about a third of those people lived in poverty. Acknowledging their contributions and creating programs to meet their needs is critical to ensuring everyone is cared for.

Speech and Hearing Awareness Month
National Speech-Language-Hearing Month is dedicated to raising awareness about communication disorders and the importance of speech, language, and hearing health. This month-long observance aims to educate the public about the impact of communication disorders on quality of life and to encourage those experiencing difficulties to seek help.

Seton Hall University will celebrate its 169th baccalaureate commencement ceremony on Monday, May 19, at the Prudential Center. Delivering the commencement keynote address is outgoing Provost and Senior Executive Vice President Katia Passerini, Ph.D.

"Between a Rock and a Hard Place: A Conversation with Ukrainian Students" is a virtual conversation with a group of Ukrainian students from the Ukrainian Catholic University in Lviv, Ukraine.

Diversity Reading Group (May 9)
Join the Diversity Reading Group for a discussion of Lost Bread. Drawing on the remarkable events of her own life, renowned author and Holocaust survivor Edith Bruck tells the story of Ditke, a young Jewish girl living in Hungary during World War II. The discussion will be led by Gabriella Romani, Professor of Italian.
