Leo Arteaga is best known around Equinox as “KING OF RULES”! One of Protector’s most flexible and powerful tools is CDR Rules, which let you monitor network activity based on your company’s business practices and patterns. In his role as Fraud Prevention Manager, Leo has fully leveraged the power of CDR Rules for maximum benefit. In the past, Leo defined and used over 1,000 CDR Rules, which garnered him the title KING OF RULES over a decade ago. Nowadays, Leo has scaled back and maintains just under 800 CDR Rules in the system. But his fight against fraud doesn’t rely on CDR Rules alone…Leo is a power user. He combines multiple options, constantly finetuning Protector to best protect against fraud. In addition to CDR Rules, Leo relies heavily on Protector’s customer and profiling features to detect fraudulent activity
.
Leo first became an Equinox customer in 2000. In 2006, he attended his first Protector User Group Meeting (PUGM). Since then, he has attended the meeting annually, with 2017 marking his 12th consecutive PUGM. Everyone at Equinox watches for Leo’s registration, knowing that his participation and comments benefit other attendees and spur product development.
When asked what he likes best about Equinox, Leo said, “the Support team is always available to help, everyone is very personable, and it’s like family. Ernest really comes to the rescue, with Mitch there to help, too.” Leo thinks Protector is easy to use, can be quickly adjusted on the fly when new trends appear, and has overall made his life easier. Not surprising, Leo says his favorite thing about Protector is its CDR Rules.
When not in the fraud trenches, Leo and his wife Rachida like to attend Broadway plays as well as Cirque Du Soleil shows together. Leo loves watching his son’s wrestling matches and supports his son’s love of movies. He enjoys time spent at the park and zoo with his young daughter.
Equinox is deeply grateful to Leo for his friendship and support.
Over the years, Leo’s Wish List suggestions truly have made the product more robust, and his contributions at the PUGM benefit the entire Protector community. Thank you, Leo!
