Dr. Kent Millard Named Interim President

United Theological Seminary is pleased to welcome Dr. Kent Millard as interim president. Following an 18-year tenure as senior pastor at St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Indianapolis, Dr. Millard retired from full-time ministry as an elder in the Indiana Conference of The United Methodist Church. He has since served as interim pastor at several churches during seasons of transition. Dr. Millard follows Dr. Wendy Deichmann, who has served as United’s president for the past eight years.

Dr. Luther Oconer Receives Exemplary Teacher Award

On Dec. 18, 2015, during United's Advent Commencement, Rev. Dr. Kim Cape, General Secretary of the General Board of Higher Education and Ministry of The United Methodist Church, presented Dr. Luther Oconer with the 2015-2016 Exemplary Teacher Award. Dr. Oconer is Assistant Professor of United Methodist Studies and has been a faculty member at United since 2012.

Decade on Denlinger | 10 Years of Faithful Leaders

Decade on Denlinger Celebration | April 22, 2016

Join the United community on April 22, 2016, for a celebration of the ten-year anniversary of United’s relocation to the Denlinger Road campus. During this time, you’ll have the chance to tour the new facilities, reconnect with classmates and be renewed during a special worship service led by United alumni/ae.

Local foundation awards $35,000 to Center for Urban Ministry.

Center for Urban Ministry Receives Grant

United received a grant from the Fred. M. Luther Trust Foundation for repairs to the Seminary’s Center for Urban Ministry located at 1516 Salem Ave., Dayton, Ohio, the former church building of Dayton’s First United Methodist Church.
