On Friday, June 14, at 1:33 p.m., the Department of Campus Safety received a report from the NYPD of an aggravated assault that occured at approximately 12:51 p.m., in the MetroTech Commons, in Brooklyn.
The assault involved three individuals, according to the NYPD's report: two assailants and a victim. It appears as though the victim approached the assailants, was struck and knocked to the ground by one assailant and then stabbed with some object by the other. Both of the assailants were then seen fleeing westbound towards Jay Street. The report also notes that the victim was transported to a local hospital.
It does not appear as though any of those involved in the incident were members of the NYU community.
Description of Reported Offender: Upon video review, the first suspect was described as male-presenting, with a thin build and dark complexion, short dreadlocks, wearing a white t-shirt, black sweatpants, a gray sweatshirt around his neck and grey sneakers.
The second suspect was described as male-presenting, with a thin build and dark complexion, long dreadlocks, wearing a white t-shirt, black sweatpants, black Nike sneakers with green laces and a green outlined swoosh.
