From the Executive Director

Dear Cottage Theatre family,

How is your mood today? I hope your memories of this week's Top Ten Show (#5 in our countdown below), plus a special bonus surprise from the original Broadway cast, will put a little extra spring in your step. Happy May Day!

I read a lot of scripts over the course of a year, but I confess I don't always judge them accurately at first reading. This script was one such example. When I read through the opening scene a few years back, I found myself thinking "why would our audience want to see that?" I was so wrong! (In my own defense, I had never seen the movie upon which this show was based, and thus came to the script without any sense of the storyline.) Our production of this show blew all those faulty first impressions right out of the water. Happy reminiscing!

Until next week, be well . . . and spread kindness!

Your questions answered here

You have questions . . . and so do we! Some questions, of course, we cannot yet answer, like "When will Cottage Theatre resume productions?" But we are happy to answer the questions that we can. We'll answer a question or two each week going forward.

Question: What is happening with CT's remodeling project?
Answer: We still plan to finish our ACT III remodeling project as soon as is feasible, and we are continuing to seek grant and other funding to help us reach our campaign goal. The ACT III project is vital to ensuring CT's long-term financial sustainability, plus it will make your experience as an audience member even nicer! Our construction timetable is a little up in the air given COVID-19 uncertainties, but we'll keep you posted.

Create some magic for your future

Like every performing arts organization, Cottage Theatre faces some significant financial challenges as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. We have already cut as many ongoing expenses as possible during this crisis, but some core operating costs continue whether or not we are holding performances.

If you are in a position to contribute a little bit to help ensure that CT maintains its footing for the future, we  and your future fellow audience members — will be very grateful.
