As members of the New York University, Silver School of Social Work community and in recognition of PRIDE month, the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion acknowledge and honors the enduring presence of LGBTQIA+ individuals within the social work profession and the significant impacts they continue to make in the social work field. LGBTQIA+ individuals constitute an integral part of our social fabric as they encompass our cherished friends and beloved family members, esteemed neighbors and colleagues, trusted partners and stakeholders, valued clients, and active community leaders. To demonstrate our commitment to ensure that our values translate into tangible actions, we dedicated ourselves to fostering a healthy and inclusive educational environment that centers on the needs of all individuals, including those who identify as LGBTQIA+.

In "Under Fire," a new series of reports, MAP connects the dots on the varied ways that LGBTQ people are under siege from a targeted and coordinated campaign to undermine equality and ultimately erase LGBTQ people from public life.

The National Queer and Trans Therapists of Color Network (NQTTCN) is a healing justice organization dedicated to transforming queer and trans people of color (QTPoC) mental health. Their work intersects social justice movements and the area of mental health to integrate healing justice into each space.

The NYU LGBTQ+ Center creates a welcoming environment for students, faculty, staff, and alumni to engage with and develop their understanding of LGBTQ+ communities through programs, events, learning and development, support, resource sharing, and consultation.
