Making Coffee Production More Sustainable

Biology professor Jeff Larkin uses his expertise in working landscapes as part of a team targeting coffee production’s environmental impact and exploring the use of solar power, carbon credits, and new farming methods to save forests. Learn about his efforts to help the coffee industry evolve.

Three Department of Biology faculty members will receive these awards at an IUP Research Week reception: Joe Townsend, Dean’s Outstanding Researcher for the Kopchick College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics; Sarah Emel, New Investigator Award; and Mike Tyree, Outstanding Achievement in Research Award.
Students, faculty, and alumni of the Department of Student Affairs in Higher Education attended the American College Personnel Association’s annual convention earlier this month in St. Louis. This multiday conference provides opportunities for networking, learning about new practices and research, and more.
