Miami University’s Sue J. Henry Center for Pre-Law Education is pleased to announce a significant $50,000 donation from the law firm White & Case, LLP in honor of alumnus Dave Koschik ’79.
This generous gift has allowed for the creation of the David N. Koschik Pre-Law Education Fund. This endowed fund will perpetually support the Center’s mission to provide pre-law students with the resources and guidance they need to succeed in law school and beyond.
“We are incredibly grateful for this generous gift in recognition of Dave’s lifetime of achievement and continuing support of Miami’s pre-law students,” said Elizabeth Zimmerman, Director. “This donation will have a lasting impact on our students, enabling us to enhance program offerings and events, and expand resources helping Miami’s pre-law students succeed in law school and beyond.”
Dave Koschik, a 1979 Miami graduate with a B.A. in Political Science and Russian, has had a distinguished career in law. After earning his JD/MSFS degrees from Georgetown University, he joined White & Case LLP, a global law firm. Dave retired from White & Case as a partner in December 2023. Koschik was a founding member of Miami’s Pre-Law Alumni Advisory Board, and also chaired that Board for several years before becoming a director and eventually chair of the Miami University Foundation Board. “When White & Case informed me at the time of my retirement that they would like to make a contribution in my honor,” Koschik said, “I was delighted to ask them to direct that contribution to the Miami University Foundation for the benefit of the Pre-Law Center. It seemed only fitting that a donation by my firm to honor my legal career would be used to support future lawyers for years to come.”
The Sue J. Henry Center for Pre-Law Education provides a wide range of services to Miami University students, including individualized advising, networking and pre-law exploration events, classes, and workshops on legal careers. The Center also offers scholarships to help students defray the costs of LSAT preparation.
