On Oct. 1, 2021, the inaugural Department of Marketing Advisory Board met to develop a plan for the advancement of the department through strategic ideas and initiatives. The Department of Marketing recognized the need to refresh the Master of Science in Marketing program in order to strengthen students’ preparedness for entering the job market after graduation. After a two-year enrollment pause, the Master of Science in Marketing program is now accepting applications for Summer 2022. Find out more about the program.

Students in Annette Tower’s strategic marketing management capstone course were tasked with developing a comprehensive marketing strategy to introduce a product or service into an international market. One of the teams was able to see part of their strategy carried out in the real world. They decided to base their project on the Australian-based wedding dress company “Grace Loves Lace.” After completing research and giving two presentations on their findings, they suggested that the brand expand into Canada and open a showroom in the Toronto market. Just this summer, after the class had concluded, Grace Loves Lace announced plans to open in a new market, Toronto. The students who worked on the product launch project were thrilled to receive feedback from the company which supported their findings and proposal. Read the full article.

The Marketing Student Advisory Board took an Industry Trip to Charlotte, NC on Oct.22, 2021. They thank Ally Financial, Wray Ward, Amazon and Mattamy Homes for hosting them and the Department of Marketing & Office of Career and Global Engagement for funding the trip. Students learned a lot of valuable lessons and had a great time!
