Every new calendar year brings a wave of fresh starts, personal goals, and a sense of hope being restored.  It is the perfect time for us to begin new habits, make changes in our routines, and envision a better way of life for the coming year.  Whether that means working on your physical, mental, or emotional well-being, you can include your New Year's resolutions in your RVing plans for 2021.  The new year also is an opportunity for you to set your eyes on the RV dream you have always imagined for yourself.  And, as always, FMCA will be here for you to help make that dream close enough to reach out and grab.
Let's pretend for a minute that there are no factors standing in your way.  What bucket list destinations would you like to visit in 2021?  You owe it to yourself to go big this year, especially if your travel plans had to be rewritten or cancelled altogether last year.  Envision your goals first and then figure out how to make them a reality!

How Do I?
Refresh, Rejuvenate
A new year comes with lots of new opportunities.  Take this time as your invitation to establish new habits and behaviors that you want to carry with you into 2021 and beyond.  If you've created a resolution to take better care of yourself, there are plenty of ways you can incorporate that goal into your RV lifestyle.

Our friends at The Fit RV run a blog, a YouTube channel, and several social media pages dedicated to sharing their fit and healthy lifestyle while traveling and living in an RV.  Whether you are looking for diet recommendations, exercise routines, or simple tips and tricks for staying healthy on the road, The Fit RV can be your digital personal trainer to help achieve your goals.

Looking for some other ideas for activities to stay healthy while RVing?  Check out all the different ways FMCA member and guest blogger "Feathered Sunsets" recommends staying active while on the road in this blog.
Baby, It's Cold Outside!
When the mercury dips waaay down, some folks cuddle up with blankets inside.  Other can't wait to get outdoors!  If you fall into the latter category, take your RV and go play.  Here are some suggestions to get you started.

Not far from Traverse City, Michigan, visit Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore to see the famous sand dunes covered in snow; if you're feeling hale and hearty, try a dune climb.  The area also boasts lighthouse tours, winter shopping, and snowshoeing.  Throughout the Wolverine State, winter welcomes with other activities, such as hiking and snowmobiling — even fat-tire biking, disc golf, birding, and stargazing.  Or, try an internet search for things to do in other states and provinces.

If you're a fan of downhill skiing, you already know the white stuff is ready.  These 12 ski resorts and facilities permit overnight RV parking in their lots.  Among them are British Columbia's Revelstoke Mountain Resort, Wyoming's Grand Targhee Resort, and Oregon's Mount Bachelor.  A couple in Washington offer hookups: Crystal Mountain Resort and Stevens Pass.

Whatever your winter pleasure, please pursue it safely.  Keep in mind some basic tips for staying warm in the cold.  And if you do plan a winter RV trip, remember to check for closings or restrictions that might be in place because of COVID-19.  Don't forget your gloves!

Merry Meadows Recreation Farm, C13973

RV Miles Podcast
It's 2021.  If you haven't discovered the wonders of podcasts by now, you are truly missing out.  They are perfect for long drives or for audiobook lovers.  The best part is, there is a podcast for just about any topic you could think of.  Naturally, that includes RVing!  The RV Miles is a podcast hosted by two RVers (and FMCA members!) who travel the United States with their three sons, camping in national parks and sharing the ups and downs of full-time family travel.
Get Organized
For the untrained traveler, downsizing from a house to an RV, even if only for a week or two, can be a serious adjustment.  The living space is significantly smaller and people have a tendency to overpack.  Before you know it, the walls of your RV are closing in on you.  And no, we're not talking about your slideouts malfunctioning!  Check out our new FMCAdventure blog, "Tips for Keeping Your RV Organized."
Mystery Of The Monoliths
Toward the end of 2020, tall, silver monoliths began to mysteriously appear in remote locations across the globe.  One by one, news articles from around the world started reporting on the appearances — and vanishings — of these mysterious metal structures.  Check out all the different places they've popped up, and keep your eyes open during your RV travels... you never know where the next one might show up!
Meal Prep Primer

It's that time of year again!  You've realized you may have overindulged the past few months because of the holidays; now, you're wanting to get back to healthier eating habits.  A simple way to do this is by prepping meals for the week.  Meal prepping removes all the guesswork out of what you will have for lunch, dinner, etc., and it only takes minutes to plan.  It also will help you to eliminate those last-minute, quick-and-easy meals that led you to where you are now.

Here is an article we found that gives pointers on meal prepping and offers some great meal ideas.
