One.Together!

This week, we joyously began a new school year-- our 61st year of welcoming Dragons to our vibrant learning community and our first year of being "One.Together." on the Singleton Campus!
Congratulations to all for making the first week such a success!  Students are having fun exploring Hubbard Hall and all of its unique learning spaces. Morning Gym has been a big hit, as has the new playground. Carpool is working, with each day running more efficiently. The biggest blessing has been watching our kindergarten-eighth graders interact as they move through the halls and around campus.
We wish all of our Dragons a truly wonderful year ahead!

Save the Date!

St M families are invited to attend the Hubbard Hall dedication on Monday morning, September 10, at 8:15 a.m. More details to follow.

Back to School Forms

Please return ALL Back to School forms THIS WEEK. Thanks!

Updated Allergy and Medicine Protocols and Forms Needed

At St. Michael’s, student safety is of utmost importance. As the School does not have a nurse on staff, we require explicit instructions if a medication is to be administered to a student.
In an effort to follow recent VAIS (Virginia Association of Independent Schools) and Department of Social Services mandates, St. Michael’s is now using the standard MAT Medication Parental Consent Form for all Prescription and over-the-counter medications.
Additionally, students with inhalers and/or EpiPens will also need to fill out the FARE forms (Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Emergency Care Plan) with their physician.

For your convenience, you will find links to these forms below. (These forms were also posted on the website this summer in the Back to School forms section.)
  • Please note that these are two-sided forms that require a signature from your physician when you are bringing in a prescription drug.
  • Over the counter drugs can be administered for a short period of time (10 days or less) with a simple note from a parent.
We've had a number of forms and medications come in that have not met our newly stipulated standards.  With our students’ safety in mind, we will be returning the medications home with a brightly colored sheet noting exactly what is needed before a medication can be properly stored and administered at School.  Thank you for your understanding.

Middle School Extended Day: Registration Required

A friendly reminder that ADVANCE REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED this year for Middle School Extended Day. This is a shift from a drop-in service in the past. This certainty in enrollment is allowing St. Michael’s to staff properly and extend the option of care this year until 6:00 p.m.
If your child is staying for after-school sports and will be utilizing Extended Day, seasonal Extended Day registration is needed.
  • Click HERE to register for MS Extended Day
Middle School families in need of a single day of after-school care from time to time may take advantage of a daily rate of $8 from 3-4:30 p.m. or $16 to 6 p.m., both require 24-hour notice. For student safety if dropping in, it is imperative that you email Mrs. Godwin (egodwin@stmschool.net) AND Mrs. Steele  (asteele@stmschool.net)  to let us know your child will be taking advantage of Middle School Extended Programs on a given day. Thanks so much!

Lower School pictures will be taken on Tuesday, Sept. 18.
