Good morning! Check out the University Perks portal for discounts and benefits available for faculty and staff. Nominations for several spring awards are due tomorrow; The Clemson University Honors College’s EUREKA! program celebrates its 20th anniversary.

What to know today:

The Clemson University Perks portal provides faculty and staff with access to a variety of employee discounts and benefits, including travel, entertainment and select brand offerings. Athletics also offers University employees free or discounted tickets to certain sports.

Nominations for the Class of 1956 Award for Staff Excellence and Dr. Ted G. Westmoreland Award for Faculty Excellence are due tomorrow. Nomination forms are available on the Academic Success Center website.

NEWS AND UPDATES

Jeff and Karen Camm provided a gift to the School of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences to establish the Jeff ’84 and Karen ’82 Camm Endowed Professorship in Data Science and Decision Intelligence. The professorship recognizes the professors and the University that shaped their lives and directly benefits students in Clemson’s growing data science program.

Clemson researchers are playing a key role in making practical use of quantum computing, as the technology holds the potential to solve certain types of problems faster than current technology.

Celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, the Clemson University Honors College’s EUREKA! program gives incoming Honors students a chance to dive into hands-on research before starting their degrees. For alumnus Gabe Cutter ’23 (middle), that early opportunity set the stage for a successful career built on curiosity, discovery and mentorship.

Beginning today at 4:30 p.m., the Office of Information Security will restrict access to certain apps and websites through the Clemson Guest network as part of ongoing efforts to secure and safeguard Clemson's networks and systems. The increased security measures will not impact users and devices connected to eduroam.

The Optional Retirement Plan (ORP) open enrollment period runs through Sunday, March 1. During this time, ORP participants may change their State ORP service provider or elect to switch to the South Carolina Retirement System, if eligible.

The 2026 Clemson 8 Challenge officially begins March 7 and runs through March 14. Open to the public, the race is dedicated to the six Clemson alumni and other prisoners of war who were forced to undergo the Bataan Death March.
