Generosity

"They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need" - (Acts 2:45). It should be no surprise that the power of the Holy Spirit made a difference in how these early Christians dealt with material possessions. When they came to Christ, they were utterly transformed in heart, mind, and lifestyle. That is what we see here in the opening pages of the Book of Acts.
Time after time our supporting churches of Hanging Rock has stepped up and made things possible for this ministry. Over my nine years serving here, I have seen our churches come together to pay off the LDC, help offset camp registrations, put roofs on buildings, help with transportation, give so much in supplies (eggs, cereal, soap, towels and so much more), and we have had people buy weed eaters, mowers, and John Deere Gators. Give us the resources to continue to reach young people for Christ.  Not only that, but have helped the missionaries that the camp has supported as well. Since January of 2016, our churches and supporters have given $172,000 to help BRING VALUE TO THE CHAPEL! WOW!!!
I want you to know that it should not surprise me how generous our supporting churches and individuals are, but it does!! I can't tell you enough how much this ministry appreciates the support and love and encouragment from you who support us! I have truly seen Acts 2:45 demonstrated in so many ways!!! Thank You!!!!!!!  Please know we do not take your generosity for granted!

Summer Camp

We are off to a great start for camp. We have seen an increase in camper numbers this year, and we have a lot of new campers joining in on the fun. We are adjusting to the new health screening & temperature checks during registration, and we really appreciate everyone's patience with this. I believe we are on track to hit the 2,000 mark for attendance this summer. Very exciting! Please keep the staff, event coordinators and faculty in your prayers as we help make camp a time where they can disconnect from all that life throws at them and reconnect with Christ.

Chapel Update

We are getting so close to reaching our goal of $180,000 to bringing value back to the chapel. We are $6,000 away from reaching our goal. We do want you to know that $180,000 is the minimum we are needing to make this happen. However, if we have more than $180,000 that will allow us to add some other features to make the chapel even better! Please pray about helping us reach this goal. If you would like to donate to the chapel, you can send a check to the camp and put chapel in the memo. The remodeling will start on September 5th. We need about 15-30 volunteers to help us knock out the old block classrooms and bathrooms, start taking all the fans and lights down, and the stage needs to come out as well. We are hoping to have people tearing out the concrete floor on September 11th so we could really use some help the week of September 5th-10th. We will feed you lunch if you come for the day. Then we will have a chapel work day on Saturday the 9th. We will feed you lunch on that day as well. Please contact Gary Baker or Tom Lloyd if you have a team of people that can help us.

New Website

We are excited to announce that on August 1st we will be launching our new website. Our hope is that this new website will make it easier to navigate and find the information you need about the ministry of Hanging Rock, Retreats and Camps. The website will still be www.hangingrock.org.

Fish Fry Fundraiser/Corn Maze Fundraisor

August 26th from 4:00 p.m. -7:00 p.m. we will be having another fish fry to help raise money for the chapel. This will be our last fundraiser before we start remodeling the chapel. This year we wanted to add a little fun for the young people at the fish fry. A CORN MAZE! The fish fry is all you can eat by donation only. The Corn Maze will cost $3.00 per person to enter.  Please plan to attend and help the camp BRING VALUE BACK TO THE CHAPEL.

Paddle the Wabash

Please keep our team of people who have raised money to "Paddle the Wabash" in your prayers as they will set out to finish the fundraiser with getting on the river on Agust 19th. The "Paddle the Wabash" raised over $19,000 for the chapel and was sheculed to paddle back in April, but was rained out.
