For me, leading Hanging Rock in 2025 is very intimidating to be honest. Getting the dining hall finished, we have 3 projects that we have been funded for by a grant that includes handicapped bathrooms for all 8 dorms, a handicapped cabin that will sleep 18 and a new handicapped lift for the pool. I have only until November to get these projects completed so they will be fully funded. Plus, all the normal stuff that goes into getting the property and staff ready for summer camp 2025.
As Christians, we can find hope and strength in knowing that God is with us in all things, including the new beginnings we face. In Isaiah 43:19, Behold, I am about to do something new; even now it is coming. Do you not see it? Indeed, I will make a way in the wilderness and streams in the desert. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
When we encounter a new beginning, it can be helpful to reflect on the past and give thanks for the experiences and lessons we have gained. However, it's also important not to get too caught up in the past and to keep an open mind and heart for what God has in store for us in the future.
One way to embrace new beginnings is to plan and set goals for what we want to accomplish. I want you to know that your Hanging Rock staff will be doing a staff retreat on January 9th to set goals for this year. Goals are very important that can give us a sense of direction and purpose and help us to stay focused and motivated. It's also important to remember that we don't have to go through new beginnings alone. We can seek the guidance and support of friends, family, and our faith community. You as supporters of Hanging Rock are our support system. We appreciate you so much.
As we begin a new year, let us remember that with God's help, we can face any new beginning with confidence and hope. May we trust in His plan for our lives and embrace the opportunities and challenges that come our way.
I pray this will be a fantastic new year for you and your loved ones!
In Christ,
