I am pleased to announce that the institution has begun a national search for our next Vice President for Student Affairs. With the hiring of this position, we will be changing the name of the Division of Student Development to the Division of Student Affairs. This classification is standard in higher education institutions today and will better describe the functions and work of the division.
A search committee has been identified (see member list below) and will work with Academic Search, a national search firm with expertise in public higher education. The search firm and committee will partner in identifying a pool of candidates from which we expect to bring finalists to campus before the end of the semester. Once a position announcement and a search timeline have been finalized, we will share them with the college community.
This position is a critical component of the college’s leadership and the President’s Cabinet, and I would like to thank the following individuals for taking the time to serve on this important search committee:
Paul Adamo, Vice President for College Advancement (search committee chair)
Melissa Allen, Director of Financial Aid
Howard Ashford, Assistant Professor and Chair of Africana And Latinx Studies (Committee for Administrative Review representative)
Sallie Han, Professor of Anthropology
Pathy Leiva, Director of Access & Opportunity Programs
Jacob Lyons, student representative
Eileen Morgan-Zayachek, Associate Provost of Academic Programs
Katie Murphy, student representative
Emily Phelps, Assistant Director of Student Life & Leadership/Gender & Sexuality Resource Center
Richard Sass, Lieutenant, University Police
Sincerely,
Alberto J.F. Cardelle
President
