DISCOVER MNPS: WHITSITT ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Join PENCIL for a Discover MNPS tour at Whitsitt Elementary School! It will be the first ever tour giving the community an inside-look at a Metro Nashville Elementary School. You can witness how the students incorporate STEAM and environmental engineering into the classroom and engage with a panel full of active PENCIL Partners. The panel will include:

PENCIL is a passionate group of individuals working to support public education by linking community resources to MNPS, and we are looking to add a Summer Marketing Intern to our team.

PENCIL'S NEWEST FACES

PENCIL is thrilled to welcome Krissy Scruggs as the newest Accounting Intern.

At PENCIL, Krissy is responsible for completing accounting work, including accounts payable, cash receipts and payroll data.

Krissy is finishing up her Master's in Accountancy at Belmont and will be with PENCIL until she takes a full-time role with an accounting firm next fall.

PENCIL is also excited to introduce the new VP of Development & Marketing, Kelly Rolf.

Kelly's role consists of creating and implementing a comprehensive donor development strategy for PENCIL to ensure we achieve our mission: linking community resources to Nashville public schools. Aside from developing and executing PENCIL's vision through development and marketing, Kelly will foster relationships with current and potential donors and community leaders.

Kelly comes to PENCIL via Chicago, where she spent a decade leading the fundraising efforts at the Mikva Challenge.

If you cannot make the Discover MNPS Tour at Whitsitt, make sure to attend the Discover MNPS Tour at Croft Middle School in March! Croft Middle School, also known as Croft Middle Design Center, utilizes its unique location on Nashville Zoo property to engage students in hands-on learning opportunities. The Nashville Zoo is only one of the several partnerships that Croft fosters to provide students with an optimal learning environment.

A LITTLE NIGHT OF MUSIC

PENCIL's signature fundraising event, A Little Night of Music, is a unique collaboration with Creative Artists Agency that builds a bridge between the music industry and support for public education in Nashville. In 14 years, this intimate event has raised more than $1.5 million for PENCIL and the work we do for Metro Nashville Public School students.

Guests will enjoy cocktails, hors d'oeuvres and a silent auction before joining the artists, curated by CAA, ON THE STAGE of the world-famous Grand Ole Opry House for a very special concert.
