Numbers 6:24-26
The Lord bless you
    and keep you;
the Lord make his face shine on you
    and be gracious to you;
 the Lord turn his face toward you
    and give you peace.

New International Version (NIV)
                 Never underestimate the awesome power of a blessing.   In the scriptures we read about parents blessing children.  The children believed the blessing would come true.  Blessing is the opposite of cursing.

               What if your job was to bless other people?  As High Priest, Moses' brother Aaron possessed the power and the privilege to bless the Israelites.  But how was he to do it?  God, who invented the blessing gave him instructions.  In essence he prayed a prayer out loud over them asking God to offer protection, grace and peace.

               Just as God entrusted the blessing to Moses, he entrusts the power to bless to all of his children.  We are believer-priests, a royal priesthood pronouncing God's grace and peace over others.  Everywhere we go today, we will represent the presence of Christ to others.  Pray his light, grace and peace over all of God's people.   As I walk around my neighborhood, my office and everywhere I go, I am praying for the people I encounter.  God is answering my prayers for them.  He will answer yours.  By all possible means, at all possible times, bless and do not curse.

Pray with me:
Father, thank you for blessing us with a new day.  Thank you for your protection through the night, the light of your face shining over us, your grace, favor and peace.  Help us not to keep these to ourselves but to share them freely with others.  We pray in the only Name that is able to bless, Jesus.  Amen.
This year we focus our Every Day with Jesus readings on Jesus’ story.  With references to Tallowood's Read Through the Bible in 2018 daily reading plan, let's focus our undivided attention on Jesus and follow where he lead. He will not fail. Neither will we!

Joyfully,
