President and Captain Russell Markel, who holds a PhD from the Department of Zoology at UBC, and did a Postdoctoral Fellowship in the Institute for Resources, Environment, and Sustainability, is dedicated to hosting travellers from around the world while fostering stewardship and supporting conservation-based research in the areas where Outer Shores travels.
