Join the Texas A&M–San Antonio Police Department for a free Citizens’ Police Academy and learn more about law enforcement and University PD operations. This hands-on experience will feature different learning materials each day, and participants who attend all three sessions will receive a certificate of completion. Lunch will be provided, and space is limited to 10 participants. For more information, contact Police Compliance Coordinator Paul Burgio.

2026 Texas A&M System AI Learnathon |
The 2026 AI Learnathon is a system-wide, month-long initiative designed to build foundational AI literacy among faculty and staff. Running now through April 30, 2026, the Learnathon aligns with key events, such as National AI Literacy Day, a CATIE webinar, the Chancellor’s Faculty Innovation and Impact Symposium, and National AI Week.

Through existing Grow with Google and ACUE training opportunities, participants will explore practical, ethical, and role-relevant uses of AI—gaining hands-on experience and working toward certification. This initiative supports faculty and staff in moving from awareness to action while strengthening skills applicable to higher education, research, and administration.

We invite you to wear jeans on Denim Day, April 29, in symbolic solidarity with survivors and to help raise awareness about sexual violence. Denim Day is a global movement observed annually during Sexual Assault Awareness Month. Also, look for a Denim Day display that will be moved around campus during April.
Members of the campus community can also stop by the Central Academic Building, Room 439, to write an inspirational message on a denim heart to help create a second display for ongoing victim support events.

Students, faculty, and staff are welcome to take a break during finals with Eagle Scouts! Police Explorer Post 784 invites you to recharge, network, and connect in our shared commitment to leadership and service. The event will feature light refreshments, guest speakers, and information on how to support the Eagle Scouts.

Diane Gavin’s Legacy Lives on Through Support for A&M–San Antonio Students |
While Diane Gavin passed away last year, the former executive director of A&M-San Antonio's Center for Academic Innovation has left a lasting legacy. Gavin donated thousands of her books to the University Library and hundreds of clothing items to the Career Closet, which provides free professional attire to students. Remembered for her intellectual curiosity, creativity, and kindness, Gavin's meaningful gifts will benefit students for years to come.

Instructor Sarah Fox’s Creative Journey Comes Full Circle
|
Lecturer Sarah Fox has pursued her passion for art since childhood, growing up in a creative environment that inspired her to explore drawing, painting, and multimedia work. Recently, Fox has received a Jim Henson Foundation grant to produce a new puppet show. The marionette folktale will address the cycle of domestic violence, and she plans to stage performances at galleries across Texas.

Military Friendly Designation Highlights University's Commitment to Veterans and Families |
A&M–San Antonio has been named a 2026–27 Military Friendly and Military Friendly Spouse School. The University also received Gold Status, a distinction that reflects top-tier support, programs, and outcomes for veterans, active-duty service members, and their families. This is the seventh time the University has received the prestigious designation.
