When an aquatic event occurs, we often see that the lifeguard’s first instinct is shock, denial, and disbelief. Use our short video and discussion questions with your lifeguards to discuss the importance of them engaging in regular, real training to build their auto-pilot response.

Equipping your staff with effective behavior management strategies helps make sure kids feel welcomed, accepted, and safe in your programs. Before staff can redirect and respond to inappropriate behaviors, they must first get to know themselves. Use this short activity at your next staff meeting to train them on a foundational behavior management strategy.
