Swords Up Fall Fest, Thursday |
|
|
|
Celebrate the start of the season at the Swords Up Fall Fest this Thursday, Aug. 28 at Larry Staudt Field. The fun begins at 6:30 p.m. with free food from Drew’s Concessions for the first 200 students, free cups of Milk & Honey ice cream, and games like cornhole and spike ball. Waffle House will also be on site with coupons, swag, and a raffle basket to support SAAC’s Make-A-Wish goal.

Cheer on the Cavs: Fall Sports Are Here! |
Fall Fest leads straight into the excitement of Cavalier Football’s first home game as the Cavaliers take on West Liberty University at 7 p.m. Football’s season opener is just the beginning, as fall sports are in full swing across campus. Be sure to come out and support our teams throughout the year! Faculty and staff and students receive free admission with their Walsh ID. Stay connected with schedules, scores, and updates on the Walsh Athletics app or at the Walsh University Athletics website.

Men’s Rugby Opens Home Season with Showdown Against Notre Dame, Sept. 5

The momentum continues into next weekend as Walsh University’s Men’s Rugby hosts the University of Notre Dame Fighting Irish on Friday, Sept. 5, at 7 p.m. at Larry Staudt Field. This highly anticipated matchup brings one of the nation’s most recognizable rugby programs to North Canton and marks Walsh’s debut home game as a founding member of the Atlantic Coast Rugby Conference (ACRC). The Career & Internship Fair will be held Tuesday, Sept. 30, 9 a.m.–12 p.m. in the Barrette Business and Community Center, with 50+ employers recruiting students from all majors for internships, part-time jobs, and full-time positions. Evening with the Accountants is set for Tuesday, Sept. 9, 5–7 p.m. in Barrette, featuring 50+ firms and agencies hiring Accounting and Finance majors.

Community Freedom Summit Keynote to Speak on Reducing the Demand for Human Trafficking
|

Join us for the 7th Annual Community Freedom Summit on Saturday, Sept. 20, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the Cecchini Center Arena. Hosted by Not For Sale: One Step At A Time in partnership with Walsh University, this powerful event features keynote speaker Tony Talbott, a nationally recognized expert in anti-trafficking and global human rights advocacy. His talk, Reducing the Demand: How to Help Disrupt Human Trafficking, will draw on over 15 years of experience in advocacy, military service, and education.

Student Volunteers Needed for Women’s Committee Boot Scootin’ Barbeque

Student volunteers are needed for the Walsh Women’s Committee Annual Boot Scootin’ Barbeque on Friday, Sept. 5, from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Hoover Park Dance Hall and Grounds. This fundraiser, which raises funds to support scholarships for Walsh University students, features an Old Carolina Barbecue dinner, music by Marlene Marsh, beginner-friendly line dancing led by Sarah Colston, a photo station with Marc Biss, silent auction items, and prizes for the best western gear. Dr. Nick Morris, Faculty Director of the Blouin Scholars Program, was chosen to represent the North American Hub of Uniservitate (Association of Catholic Colleges and Universities), an international network for service-learning in Catholic higher education, at their international gathering in Buenos Aires, Argentina – the International Solidarity in Service-Learning Week (SSL Week and Memories of Pope Francis – Uniservitate). During numerous networking and strategic conversations, he shared the work of the Blouin Scholars as an example of service-learning in Catholic higher education. He looks forward to creating opportunities for students to connect directly with peers and professionals around the globe through similar experiences.
