The CASA Connection

Message from the Executive Director

As we begin this season of gratitude, we express our sincere apprciation for your support and share with you our impact on the community.  This year CASA of DuPage County served 383 vulnerable children who are abused, neglected or in need of a guardian.

During this time of year, we often take an extra step to seek out opportunities to do a little more for those around us.  I would like to take a moment to thank all of you who have taken an extra step this year in support of the children served by CASA of DuPage.

With your generosity, we have collected toys to distribute during the holidays, gift cards to help purchase necessary items for children, and received donations to our year-end appeal that will allow us to continue serving children who have been abused or neglected.  We have also provided additional support through our empowerment program for older youth in meeting their educational and vocational goals.

I am overwhelmed with the outpouring of support I have seen over the past few months and want to thank every one of you for your part in helping CASA of DuPage County to provide assistance, advocacy and resources to the vulnerable children in our community.  Thank you!

Warmest wishes for a safe, healthy, and happy holiday season!

Welcome New Advocates!

We are pleased to welcome 20 new advocates to CASA of DuPage County who were sworn in by Judge Anthony Coco on Thursday, October 28th.

After a comprehensive application process, these dedicated individuals recieved background checks, were fingerprinted and participated in interviews--in addition to completing 30 hours of training to prepare them to take on the appointment of their first case.  They will now begin advocating for children who have been removed from their homes because of abuse or neglect.

We are proud of what you have accomplished.
You will do great things for children!

You will soon find a letter from CASA of DuPage County asking for your help this time of year.  Just as a lighthouse provides safety and direction, your donation this holiday season will help to provide a safe space and guidance to children in the midst of trauma.

Please consider a donation, ensuring vulnerable children will have a stable adult, help to succeed in school, access to health services and someone to advocate for their best interests. Your generosity will lift up a child, help them feel valued, heard, and respected. We are profoundly grateful for your support and contributions to CASA of DuPage County.

Welcome to the CASA Board of Directors, Cate Economos

Cate has been aware of CASA of DuPage for the last 20 years and is inspired by the essential role it plays in our community.  Cate is a CPA with 25 years of accounting experience in pubic, private and nonprofit accounting.  In addition, she has used her finance and accounting skills in multiple volunteer roles, supporting school PTAs, Wheaton Junior Women’s Club and serving as a scout leader. Now that her children are older, Cate has the time to devote to becoming a member of the CASA Board of Directors.  We are grateful to Cate and to all of our CASA Board members for giving their time to support children in our community.
