On Sunday, September 8, 2024 the Department of Campus Safety received a report of a fondling that occurred at approximately 10:38 p.m., inside of Rubin Residence Hall in Manhattan.
An NYU student was entering Rubin Residence Hall through the revolving door when an unidentified individual also entered the same segment of the revolving door, pressing their pelvis against the victim's buttocks through their clothing. The suspect entered the lobby momentarily and left almost immediately. No words were exchanged between the student and the unknown individual at any point during the incident.
No injuries were reported. The student was offered support services.
Description of Suspect: The suspect was described as male-presenting with a medium complexion, wearing gray sweatpants and jacket, and appeared to be unhoused. The suspect was approximately 5'7" tall, 30 years of age.
