All Jackson State University sites will reopen at NOON, and all IN-PERSON classes and activities are canceled on Wednesday, Feb. 17.

However, employees who are able to telework are encouraged to do so. Employees who travel to the office please exercise caution on the roadways.

Administrative leave will be granted to any employee unable to telework or come to the office for safety reasons.  

As always, the University will continue to monitor weather developments and update accordingly.

Classes

Should be conducted remotely where possible. Faculty with in-person classes should notify students if classes will or will not be conducted online. 

The University will accommodate faculty or students who encounter any difficulties, as necessary. 

Students

Meals will be available for pick up at Heritage Dining (only) during the following hours: 

Brunch 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Dinner 4 p.m. - 7 p.m.

The food pantry will be open. Please check the housing website for hours of operation. 

The Health Center will be open from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Please report any heat or water issues to your Resident Assistant or Hall Director as soon as possible. 

If you traveled home for the weekend, please remain home if possible and stay safe. 



Employees

Employees in departments vital to campus safety and building maintenance (Public Safety and Facilities Management) will need to report to work as normally scheduled. 

Additional faculty and staff, whose positions have been identified as essential, you will be contacted by your supervisor if required to work remotely. Please check all modes of communication (telephone, email and text.) 

If you are identified as essential and unable to report to campus due to extenuating circumstances, please contact your immediate supervisor before the start of your shift.
