Announcing the 2018 CAS Honorees for 18 of the Last 9
| |
Dear Alumni and Friends: My deep and sincere thanks to those of you who responded to our Alumni Survey last month. While going through all the submissions, I found it striking that so many of you, on top of giving financially to CAS, are willing to provide your valuable time and expertise to help mentor and guide our students in a wide variety of ways: speaking in classrooms and on panels, coaching for job interviews and resumes, reviewing research proposals, identifying internships, and mentoring students online or by phone. We will be following up with those of you who want to become more engaged on an individual basis in the coming months. This year, I am excited to announce that 12 alumni from the College of Arts and Science have been named as honorees of Miami's annual recognition program, 18 of the Last 9. Sponsored by our Alumni Association and based on the "30 under 30" model, 18 of the Last 9 recognizes a total of 18 Miami alumni who have graduated within the past nine years and exhibit achievements and passions in a wide range of fields. This year's group was selected from a pool of more than 150 nominations. The CAS honorees, who will be visiting our campus on Oct. 25 & 26 for a special dinner reception and other activities, are:
