Dear Traveler:

A long hike on a cool winter morning is a great way to clear away the fog of the holidaze (even if there is just a little actual fog hanging around the mountaintops). While walking, I’ll be considering my New Year’s Resolutions. Near the top of that list is “Try Something New Every Day,” and fortunately for me, Transylvania County is a mecca for new and magical experiences. You can hardly turn around up here without running smack dab into a great event, an awesome new adventure, a waterfall you’ve never seen down a trail not (yet) taken and a marvelous array of new dishes, drinks, live music and shopping to try in Brevard’s bustling downtown.

It’s a New Year—time to shake off a case of the winters and jump into Transylvania County’s wonders like it’s 1999 2016. Won’t you join me? I’ll bring the party hat.

Happy New Year!
