Student Belongings Pickup/Dropoff POSTPONED
Dear St. Michael's Families,
As new information has come to light that has given us pause, we have made the difficult decision to POSTPONE the June 1 and 2 dates for families to retrieve medications and personal belongings that remain in student lockers/cubbies and return school items.
You may have seen in the Richmond news this week that a similar event at a local elementary school, where faculty and staff were gloved and masked, resulted in the principal and several others being diagnosed (and one hospitalized) with Covid-19. That school community is now being asked to self-quarantine for two weeks.
Our number one priority at St. Michael's is the health and safety of both our students AND faculty and we feel that delaying our gathering is the prudent thing to do at this time. Please know that we are disappointed as we had planned for these days to be a celebration of the end of the school year with teachers and administrators waving, cheering, and wishing our Dragons a happy summer. We were so looking forward to seeing your smiling faces; we have missed you so.
We will formulate a new plan for a touchless item pickup and dropoff and will let you know as soon as we have nailed down the details.
For families who have children's PRESCRIPTION medications with us, please email Merrill Geier (Lower School) or Jessica Stargell (Middle School) to set a individualized medicine retrieval plan.
Thank you for your understanding and support.
Stay well!
Bob Gregg
Head of School
