Dear Traveller:

Firework preparations are well underway up here in the purple mountains (majesty), as the white squirrels are quietly seeking out red squirrels and blue squirrels to complete a bushy-tailed patriotic trifecta in time for July 4th Festivities. Up in Transylvania County, we take Independence Day pretty seriously. It’s a great party and also the triumphant wrap-up to our Annual Arts and Culture week (which a few of you savvy travelers may be enjoying even as I write).

July is also peak season for summer camping, swimming hole-ing, picnic hosting, music listening and good-time having whether you’re actually up on the mountain tops or down in town. There’s no lack of new things to discover and new places to explore, no matter your age or affinity.  So roll out the stripes, spangle the stars and raise your flags for July.

See you soon,

The Adventurist
