Drills and tests may be performed regularly and without warning to simulate a realistic incident. Are you prepared? Here’s an overview of emergency types that may require immediate action on campus:
|
-
Shelter-in-Place: Issued when it’s safer to stay indoors than evacuate, due to nearby security threats, extreme weather, or dangerous air quality from hazardous materials.
- Security Threat (Lockdown): A lockdown means an imminent or active threat on or near campus, requiring you to secure yourself in place, stay out of sight, and avoid movement until cleared.
-
Severe Weather: Alerts for severe weather events, such as tornadoes or thunderstorms, direct you to safe indoor areas to protect against high winds and other storm hazards.
