Help define the vision for Aloe Bay
Thank you for signing up to be part of the Aloe Bay contact list. As you might be aware, the town was awarded funding from the RESTORE Act and the Alabama Gulf Coast Recovery Council to fund an economic development project for Aloe Bay that includes the planning, feasibility study, design and implementation of a town center (or harbor town) concept. This project will be planned in and around the commercial district in the Aloe Bay area.
The Aloe Bay project includes the planning and implementation of a mixed-use district with public facilities to enhance economic, tourism, and resident opportunities for the Town of Dauphin Island. The project will be implemented in three phases. Phase I includes planning and conceptual design of Aloe Bay, along with a Meeting Space Study for the entire Island. Phase II will include design and engineering, permitting, development of project costs and preparation of construction plans and documents. Finally, Phase III is the construction period of the project. Currently, the project team is in Phase I and needs your input.
To gather input and kick off the project, we have a visioning event planned for June 25th at the Alabama Deep Sea Rodeo site. Please see the information above for the details for the public event. We hope to see you there!
