A.G. Rhodes & Art Against Ageism Install Large Public Mural

A.G. Rhodes teamed up with Art Against Ageism and the Inside Out Project on a large public art mural, “Aging Is Living: Celebrating Legacy and Community,” that displays 150+ large-scale photos of residents, staff, family, and community members on our Atlanta location's wall that faces Boulevard. The mural, printed on compostable paper, creates an eye-catching temporary exhibit that gives visibility to the aging community.
Watch stories from 11Alive's Atlanta & Company and Atlanta News First, which covered an event unveiling the mural last week, and see photos of the mural below.

National Centenarians Day
In addition to celebrating our first public art installation, we also celebrated some very special centenarians (and almost centenarians) in our homes! From a WWII veteran to Spelman College's oldest living alumna to our oldest elder at 108 (who looks amazing!), we are so fortunate to have such history and wisdom among us.

A.G. Rhodes Ranked #1 in Georgia!
Congratulations to our Atlanta and Wesley Woods locations for being ranked number one in the state in their respective categories in Newsweek’s Best Nursing Homes 2025! For the fourth consecutive year, A.G. Rhodes Wesley Woods is recognized as the number one nursing home in Georgia on the list of nursing homes with at least 150 beds. And after A.G. Rhodes Atlanta was among best nursing homes in the new 100-149 beds category on the 2024 list, it moved to number one in this category on the 2025 list. Learn more about America's Best Nursing Homes and its criteria.

We also celebrate A.G. Rhodes Wesley Woods for being rated #1 in the entire nation in the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services' (CMS) Value-Based Purchasing Program in re-hospitalization rates! This program encourages nursing homes like us to improve the quality of care through various incentives. We were honored to be asked by CMS to present our best practices in clinical metrics earlier this summer, which led directly to this incredible achievement. You can read more about our clinical work through this interview with Ariana Moreau, Director of Clinical Services, here.
Profiles of Positive Aging
Congratulations to three A.G. Rhodes residents who were recently honored and celebrated at “Profiles of Positive Aging,” an annual event held in Atlanta that celebrates and features older adults throughout the state. The event is hosted by LeadingAge Georgia, an association of Georgia-based nonprofit aging services providers like A.G. Rhodes.
Part of their nomination included a six-word memoir of advice and inspiration. We certainly agree with all of them!

"With God you can achieve anything." - Mr. Charlie Coleman, A.G. Rhodes Atlanta
"Sylvia’s Story: Feisty. Outspoken. Loyal. Benevolent." - Ms. Sylvia Engelman, A.G. Rhodes Cobb
"Be happy and positive every day." - Ms. Beverly Thomas, A.G. Rhodes Wesley Woods

Joy of Life Parade

A beautiful collection of artwork is on display in the lobby of our new Skilled Nursing and Memory Care building at A.G. Rhodes Cobb, and it has a special connection to our mission. The art was painted by the late Jim Gray, a renowned artist and sculptor from East Tennessee. Jim lost his father to Alzheimer’s and after fearing that his own memories may one day fade, he began painting the Joy of Life Parade, which records a lifetime of the memories that Jim treasured and didn’t want to lose.
Learn more about this unique collection, and how it was gifted to A.G. Rhodes.
