Powers Distinguished Fellow feature: Derek Dalton, professor of accountancy
In 2021, Derek Dalton, professor of accountancy, was recognized as a Powers Distinguished Fellow for his outstanding work in research, teaching and academic service. His research has won several awards; for the 2024/2025 academic year, he was renewed as a fellow and is looking forward to continuing his research on work-life balance and turnover, focusing on CPA sole proprietors.

The impact of CEO paranoia: new study explores the effect of CEO paranoia on stakeholder relationships
Amy Ingram, Ph.D., associate professor of management, and co-authors published an article forthcoming in the Academy of Management Journal, which finds evidence that CEOs who tend to be more paranoid are more likely to become defensive and aggressive when they encounter situations that make them feel like outside parties are targeting them.

Aleah Gramblin '23 discovered a passion for helping others who experience hair loss when she herself began experiencing it during high school. Her desire to help others propelled her to continue making wigs, eventually resulting in her own business, Girls Love Lace.

Department of Finance Creative Inquiry highlights: CFA Institute Research Challenge and the Stock Pitch Competition
Clemson's Creative Inquiry (CI) courses allow students to participate in hands-on learning experiences and undergraduate research. The Department of Finance offers multiple CIs where faculty members lead projects and collaborate with students each year. This year, two of these CI courses involved team competitions.

Lyceum Students engage with ancient Greek philosophy at American College of Greece
This past May, 12 Lyceum Scholars and three Lyceum faculty traveled to Athens, Greece, to study ancient political philosophy and culture in the birthplace of democracy at The American College of Greece (ACG) as part of the Lyceum Abroad Program.
