There are countless authentically Creighton moments and milestones that have come to define this campus. And in 2026, we’re highlighting several of these incredible, wacky, landmark anniversaries. Things like: The solo banjo jam session that produced the school fight song, the closing of Beal’s Grill, the addition of the B+ grade, and major breakthroughs for men’s basketball and soccer. Creighton University’s future athletic facility, currently under construction on the east end of campus, will be named “The Bill” in honor of the late Bill Scott, a longtime donor and friend to the University. The Bill is set to open in 2027.

With the men’s basketball team approaching its annual Pink-Out game, it’s time to bring back a popular alumni story from 2025 about Emily Belden Bond, BA’08. A social media update from a college friend prompted her to see a doctor. She was soon diagnosed with Stage II breast cancer. Read more.

If you attended a Bluejay sporting event last fall, you may have noticed: Creighton has male cheerleaders again. And megaphones! After nearly 30 years, the Athletic Department reintroduced a coed cheer team to the Bluejay sideline. Learn more about the cheer squad.

The biggest pregame party of the season is taking place Saturday, Jan. 31 before the Creighton men’s basketball team faces off against UConn. Join us! There will be food and drinks, family-friendly activities and lots of Bluejay pride.

The first-year Bluejay coach has big shoes to fill, but the job made so much sense to him that he’s willing to try. Patients dealing with burn injuries not only need physical treatment, but their rehabilitation process involves mental and emotional factors as well. That’s where Cassidy Schilling, OTD’25, excels.
