Oregon Wine Month

In Oregon, May is for wine. Since 2012, the state’s wine industry has celebrated Oregon Wine Month with the goal of furthering the following objectives:
  1. To encourage a period of increased support from distributors, restaurants and retailers in the Pacific Northwest.
  2. To create a platform for tactical winery promotions that stimulate sales in all channels.
  3. To develop deeper affinity for Oregon wine by forging an emotional connection with consumers.
The Oregon Wine Board has developed an industry-facing toolkit for anyone seeking guidance, tools and programming on Oregon Wine Month.

Regional Solutions Calls for Committee Members

In April, Regional Solutions celebrated their 10-year anniversary since being signed into law. As Regional Solutions works to deepen communication connections, they’re relaunching their Advisory Committees in 11 regions and asking leaders to participate in the partnership between state and local communities.
Advisory committees are composed of representatives of the following roles: Convener, County (recommended by AOC), City (recommended by LOC), Business, Philanthropic, Tribal and Community Based Organizations. Committees will determine regional priorities for community and economic development, identify resources and funding, and utilize their local connections to advance regional efforts. Committee members will also be asked to provide a strategic link between the Governor’s Office and local communities throughout Oregon.
Through this appointment process, Regional Solutions will seek to identify committee members who can represent their sectors, and who together represent the geographic and cultural diversity that exists within each region. Whether returning or new, all committee members need to apply to be considered for appointment or reappointment.
Applications are due to the Executive Appointments Office May 24. More information on the application process can be found here
