Hi Neighbor!
Last month I attended my final parent college orientation. Of the three that I have attended, it was definitely the best. One of my favorite sessions of the day came when the Career Counselor asked us all to stand and think back to when we were 18 and whether or not we had an idea of what our ideal dream job would be. He then asked those of us who are currently working that 18-year-old dream job to remain standing. As I stood standing there with a few others, my husband looked at me like I had two heads. When I sat down, he leaned over and whispered, I didn’t realize you had your dream job, and I told him I sure do because as long as I can remember, my dream job was to become a mom. So I stood there quite proud of myself for achieving this goal even though I knew this wasn’t the type of job that counselor was talking about.

Local Rescues Save Lives
Loving, sweet Sophia arrived with her puppies at Chester County's Angel’s Retreat malnourished and fearful after being removed from inhumane housing. With patient attention from Angel's Retreat volunteers, Sophia is now happy and healthy in a foster home. She loves walks, car rides, playing fetch, cuddles, and being silly (which is very entertaining)! Sophia is ready for a happy, new life with a forever family.
Adopt Sophia
Daphne was only 10 weeks old with health issues, making her unfit for sale at a puppy mill in Lancaster County. Angel’s Retreat recognized she was suffering from double merle, a completely avoidable genetic abnormality, resulting from careless breeding, Daphne is deaf and partially blind. These completely avoidable breeding practices are legal under PA law.
As if little Daphne didn’t have enough to deal with, she was also seriously ill, having developed pneumonia and parvo virus. Angel’s Retreat is providing the Veterinary care needed to nurse her back to health, thanks to contributions, and a foster family helping Daphne feel secure and relaxed.
