Walsh University congratulates the 553 students who qualified for the Spring 2023 Dean’s List. Students enrolled for at least 12 credits who achieve a grade average of 3.5 or higher in any semester are included on the Dean’s List. Part-time students are considered for the Dean’s List in the semester when their class status changes. Among the students who qualified for the Dean’s List are 40 international students and 50 out-of-state students. More than 1,200 people came out on Sunday to enjoy the beautiful grounds and exciting events taking place at the 3rd Annual Hoover Park Festival at Walsh University. Visitors enjoyed a scavenger hunt in the Hoover Historical Center, product giveaways from Hoover, a vintage baseball game, a full concert by the Canton Concert Band, historical presentations, vintage cars, train rides, food trucks, displays from community partners, and more! Special thanks to Hoover for being the major sponsor of the Hoover Park Festival and to all volunteers who made the day a tremendous success!  

Join us for Walsh University’s 12th Annual Fit Family 5K Run and Walk on Saturday, September 16, the weekend before Homecoming. This chip-time 5K race, which promotes health and wellness for all ages, begins on campus and winds through the roads of the surrounding North Canton community. Kids 9 and under are welcome to participate in a half-mile Fun Run prior to the 9 a.m. start of the 5K race and kids' activities. Event registration is $30 for adults and $25 for students. Fun Run registration is $10. Check-in for Fit Family 5K Run and Walk begins at 7:15 a.m. at the David Center building. All proceeds benefit the Walsh University Doctoral of Physical Therapy students’ conference travel and educational endeavors. Donations can also be made here. For more information, click here.

Dr. Amy Heston, Professor of Inorganic Chemistry, has been invited to speak at the Hondros College of Nursing professional development event. She will be guiding their faculty in Quality Matters implementation, while highlighting Walsh University successes and representing the QM (Quality Matters) Ohio executive committee. 


Megan Pellegrino, Director of Museum Studies and Director of the Hoover Historical Center, has been invited to present an online seminar for Ohio Museums Association on September 18. The topic will be focused on how museums can connect with museum studies programs and students. 


Roger DeVille, a 1965 alum, successful business owner, philanthropist, community leader, namesake of the DeVille School of Business, and long-time friend and benefactor of Walsh University, received an Honorary Doctorate of Business at the 2023 Commencement in May.
