A dangerous new synthetic opioid, cychlorphine, has been linked to overdoses and poisonings nationwide. It is more potent than fentanyl, highly addictive and often mixed into other substances without users’ knowledge. Do not take unknown or illicit substances. Only take medications prescribed to you, as any substance — including cannabis — may be laced.
Naloxone (Narcan®) is a life-saving medication that can reverse the effects of opioid poisoning. Multiple doses may be needed with potent opioids like cychlorphine. Narcan® is available for emergency use in many main campus buildings in ONEbox units, and it is available for free through Healthy Campus and local health departments.
