Hip Hip Hurray for Magic Dragon Day!
It was a beautiful day for Magic Dragon Day! Our Lower School Campus was filled with so much energy, laughter and fun. From our kindergarteners dancing around the Maypole and a friendly, competitive Tug of War, to scrumptious cake walk cakes, goofy photo booth pictures and dunk tank dares, we hope everyone enjoyed this annual St M event.
St. Michael's would like to extend our tremendous appreciation and thanks to the 2015 MDD chairs, Madeline Gorman and Alison Roussy, and their fabulous team of volunteers for making Magic Dragon Day such a special event. THANK YOU!!
Be sure to check out our St M Facebook page for more MDD photos!
Magic Dragon Day Was a Success!
A BIG thank you to our many Magic Dragon Day coordinators, sponsors & volunteers! This event would not have been a success without you. We are so appreciative of the time and energy you put into helping make this a fun family day for all year after year!!
A very special thank you as well to School staff and administration!
Congratulations to the BLUE team for being this year’s team winner!  Thank you to the WHITE team for such a great day of games.
Thank you Field Day volunteers for putting together fun activities for both teams.
Lastly, thanks to our St M families for all your hard work and support of St. Michael’s! The entire school community helped to celebrate and put the "magic" in Magic Dragon Day for our kids.

Introducing the St M Mountain Biking Program!
We are excited to announce that, in the Fall of 2015, St. Michael's will be offering a Mountain Biking Program for students in grades 6-8, and possibly grade 5, at the Singleton Campus. The Singleton Campus, with its 70 acres of rolling hills and woods, is the ideal setting for mountain biking. We are pleased to be partnering with Peak Experience, RVA's expert in outdoor sports and adventure activities, to offer this outdoor opportunity to our students. New bike trails are being laid out on Campus by Peak Experience.
We cordially invite interested rising 6-8th grade students and families to attend an informational session on the program on Thursday, May 7 at 3 p.m. at  the Singleton Campus Great Hall. While sign-ups will take place at a later date, this is an opportunity for you to learn about the program and for the School to gauge interest. Click here for more info.
More Bike News: Lower School Bike Safety Month
May will be bike safety month in the gym.  Lower school students are encouraged to bring in their bike helmets on Fridays during the month of May so that they can be properly fitted for the summer months.  In addition, bike safety rules will be reviewed in class.
May I Have This Dance?
The Middle School Semi-Formal dance is Friday, May 15th from 7-9 p.m. $7.00 at the door. Attire: Girls: dresses or skirts; Boys: dress shirt, tie and pants (no jeans please). Dust off your dancing shoes and let's have some fun!
Please note that cell phones are discouraged at School dances.  This helps to ensure the privacy of all students attending and limits the urge to take photos or video while at the dance.  If a student needs to bring a cell phone to the dance, the phone should be kept in the student’s locker during the event and can be retrieved once the dance is over.  In the event of emergency, parents can contact their children by calling Mr. Jones directly at 804-387-0773 during dance hours.  Students will have access to the conference room phone as well should they need to make a call during the dance.  Thanks for your understanding.
