Arriving: Refugee Stories from Around the World

In honor of World Refugee Day, join the DCJCC for an evening of story-sharing with four people who came to the United States as refugees. Hear stories from the Middle East, the former Soviet Union, Central America, and the African continent, and have the opportunity to engage in dialogue with each speaker.

Adel Fund provides support for short-term basic needs such as mortgage and rent payments, and medical support. Please call: 240-621-0770 or visit them online.
Bikur Cholim of Greater Washington provides assistance to people facing medical challenges and to the families who care for them.
Hebrew Free Loan of Greater Washington provides community members with interest-free loans to help them overcome financial challenges. Please call: 301-859-0346 or visit them online.
Jewish Social Service Agency (JSSA) provides a screening line for all services related to mental health, special needs, and senior care. Please call MD: 301-816-2633 or VA: 703-896-7918 or visit them online.
Montgomery County Kosher Meals for kids, age 18 and under. Yad Yehuda has been approved as a distribution site for free daily kosher lunches. All households in Montgomery County with children age 18 and under are eligible to participate in this USDA program.
Rabbi Emergency Fund offers funding for rabbis to support members of the community who are in need during times of crisis. Please contact your local congregation.
