JANUARY 2021
LMU Workday Updates for Managers
Dear colleagues,
As many of you have heard, Workday is coming to LMU this June! We are very excited to bring Workday to the bluff, as it will connect numerous disconnected software systems into one easy-to-use dashboard – improving processes with greater transparency and greater ease in completing HR and finance-related tasks.
Throughout the spring, we will be sharing monthly manager-specific communications on the unique features of Workday and updates specific to your role as a manager. Our goal is to help reinforce your preparedness, and ensure a smooth transition upon our June 27 go-live.
As a reminder, the following systems will be phased out in June when we go live with Workday:
- MyTime
- Concur
- Oracle E-Business Suite
- ADP iPay
- jobs.lmu.edu
- Longview
- ThinkSmart
- …and more. See the full list of processes changing to Workday here.
While we recognize that any organizational change requires adaptation and flexibility, we are confident that Workday will enable greater self-empowerment, provide clarity, and simplify the work for managers.
Additionally, Workday will greatly reform and improve talent and performance-related tasks for those who manage staff:
- Increased visibility and development tools, to better support you and your teams.
- Improved business processes = time saved!
- Ability to review and approve staff time-off requests; access data needed to manage more effectively; process invoices; complete performance reviews; and more… directly through Workday.
Further details and information will be shared as we progress closer to June 27, in addition to comprehensive training opportunities.
In the meantime, we highly encourage you to check out lmu.edu/propel, the home of all news and resources related to the Workday transition. FAQs, training materials, and other support pieces will be populated throughout the spring, for your Workday education.
We also hope you’ll feel comfortable reaching out to us! The transition to Workday takes all of us, and your questions and feedback are vital to ensuring that our colleagues are sufficiently educated and prepared for a successful rollout. Please feel free to drop us a line at propel@lmu.edu.
We look forward to continuing the conversation, and sharing more about why we’re so excited for Workday, in the coming months.
Kindly,
Dustin Reece
